WHAT IS ADRENAL FATIGUE?
Adrenal fatigue or adrenal fatigue describes a condition caused by chronic exposure to stressful situations that lead to "overloading" of the adrenal glands and they respond with increased production of cortisol, the stress hormone. Our adrenal glands were not designed for the amount of cortisol they have to handle these days. With constant stress and an increase in stressors, the adrenal glands are slowly exhausted and their fatigue occurs. There are non-specific problems such as fatigue and a feeling of exhaustion even after sufficient sleep and regeneration, difficulty waking up, problems falling asleep, anxiety, problems with concentration, easy irritability and mood swings, weight gain and inability to lose weight, and others.
The examination can be completed by persons aged 15 and over. Persons under the age of 18 may undergo an examination and professional consultation only in the presence of a legal representative (parent).

The extended examination package includes biochemical parameters assessing the function of the liver, kidneys, thyroid gland, and fat metabolism. It monitors the factors affecting the level of iron in the body and the levels of vital vitamins (vitamin B12, B9 and D). It also includes a basic ionogram (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium), determination of common inflammatory markers and homocysteine, and determination of the level of the stress hormone cortisol from saliva. You will collect samples 4 times during the day (the previous day before blood collection) according to the collection instructions delivered in advance.

The examination can be completed by persons aged 15 and over. Persons under the age of 18 may undergo an examination and professional consultation only with their consent and in the presence of a legal representative (parent).
Due to the possible influence of the results by the ongoing treatment, the examination is not suitable:
- for people using drugs that fundamentally affect the function of the adrenal glands - all types of corticoids, biological treatment, treatment with hormonal preparations, strong anti-inflammatory drugs (sulfosalazine, pentasa, medrol, drugs for the treatment of inflammatory diseases).
- for persons enrolled in chronic treatment programs (rheumatoid inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, oncology patients, transplant patients).
In the case of an ongoing viral or bacterial infection, it is necessary to postpone the sampling due to the possible influence of the results. Consider your health status at the time of ordering and at the time of sampling. The client is responsible for the quality and correct collection of the sample (except for blood collection).
The collection date can be changed once, no later than 24 hours before the agreed date after logging into the Medirex patient zone, or by calling number 0800 400 800 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Instructions before collection:
- When arriving for an examination, follow the applicable legal and epidemic regulations (wearing protective equipment, hand disinfection, distance, measuring body temperature...)
- Before collection, it is necessary to show proof of identity.
- Before taking it, it is necessary to observe the drinking regime (pure water).
- It is necessary to come to the collection on an empty stomach (not to eat).
- We do not recommend increased physical activity for at least 24 hours before and after blood sampling.
